Eileen Parr interviews me...

On the way back from the Lowdham Festival, I encountered the writer Eileen Parr at the railway station. We started talking and I now I have answered some questions on writing (which I found very interesting) on her blog, 'The Writer's Little Book'.

I got to watch your video from the link on Eileen's blog ... very affecting. I think you have mentioned this before - the similaritites to parts of NZ are amazing. Our son spent some time in Patagonia (Chile side) and photos he sent back were so like NZ (Southern NZ esp.) I am halfway through your marvellous book and thoroughly enjoying it. Thanks Clare!

How interesting, kay. I wonder if it is because the land is volcanic, and of a similar age.

Strangely, I've thinking about the similarity of certain landscapes a lot today - the celtic coastlines...do the coastlines somehow choose the people, or is it the other way round?

Delighted you're enjoying my book!
