The Shed Cometh
Before 10 am there was just this (the place where we put the washing line - never a very good place)....
After there was this...
I was going to take photos as the shed was assembled but the men were too quick. By the time I'd made them some coffee it was up...
Now all that's needed is some electricity, some heating and some insulation (because it is very cold), and a desk, and a couple of chairs.
I am very happy with it. Inside, it feels strangely peaceful. I think perhaps it is the smell of the wood and the sense that nature is close.

I'm so jealous, yet at the same time, so pleased for you. I just know it will be such a source of inspiration.
I think that, when (?) the children have left home, I will construct a shed in one of their bedrooms, as our garden is too small for another one (the one we have is full of "stuff" that has to live somewhere....so cannot be got rid of when they go -- table, chairs, zillions of MP tools, etc.)
By the way, on my "2 for 1" comment principle, I was not singling out your blog in particular in my remark about the byzantine comment verification system -- all blogs seem to have it in triplicate, not least my own, which is as frustrating as the best of them. It seems to be an inevitable part of blogging life.
Oh Clare I am SO thrilled for you (jump, jump, jump, skip, skip, skip, skip!!!) SQUEAK!!!!
Well done, it looks great! Have you spoken aloud to yourself in the shed yet? how do you sound? I'm always interested in how someones voice sounds in new spaces. And I'm a great one for speaking aloud to myself when writing. Sometimes I feel its the only way to see if the words flow well.
A shed within a room - I like it, Maxine - all the advantages of a shed and none of the inconveniences. Your shed sounds a bit like our entire house :-)
I agree completely about the verification.
Thanks CB!
No, Jem - but now you've said, I certainly shall. And yes, I agree about reading out, although I tend to make my computer do it (or at least the woman who lives inside (her name is Victoria BTW)).
I'm so sad! Your pictures haven't come through here. The shed sounds lovely - I hope you have many happy years with it.
I can't see the pictures either.
It (the shed) sounds wonderful
May you have many happy hours inhabiting it.
Yes, don't know what's happened to those photos - they were there at first then disappeared. I'll try and put them back in a new post. Perhaps they are too large.
