A Mulberry Book

I wrote a little something for a friend's 80th birthday book the other day. A group of us contributed, as she gave each of us a little notebook as a thank you present.


It's made of mulberry paper, and very pretty. I keep wishing I still had silkworms to see if they'd be interested in eating it - I wouldn't let them though!

Yes, difficult to write in it, it's so pretty. Think I might save it for best work.

Yes, Susangalique and Mary - I forgot to mention, and it's not too easy to see - those are pressed flowers on the front - violets, I think.

Some of my very earliest poems are printed and bound in a book a bit like this. The poems are rubbish now, but the book is still beautiful.
