A Bookstand
Why does a delivery from Amazon always feel like I've received a present - even though I've ordered it (and paid for it) myself? Anyway, this jolly little thing just came this morning...

I've just tried it out and it seems to work quite well. I particularly like the stripy fabric ... and that, also like a deck chair, it folds quite flat. Anyway, a fun and much-needed addition to the Hodmandod desk furniture

I feel the same way about packages from Amazon!
Stand looks nifty, too.
I've got one of these - in a different fabric - they work well - being quite chunky wood they seem to balance quite well - plastic ones I've had have tended to topple over.
My mum just bought me two of those, in different sizes. They are lovely, aren't they? A little bit of the beach, whatever the weather!
Debra: It is! Think I might get a small version too.
Ah, good - thanks, Jem, I hadn't thought of that.
"A little bit of the beach, whatever the weather!" love it, Tania - that's exactly it!
Yes, I always feel like that with interesting bookish parcels. :)
It's one way of cheering yourself up in these dog days of January
