The cocoon over four hours.

Here is one cocoon being made at hourly intervals...

'Has it occurred to you that no one else is going to be as interested in this, as you are?' Hodmandod Minor says.

They are cruel - it's their job.

I can't believe how short the whole process is - it takes no time at all.

Luckily we did not give birth in order to be admired.

The most negative question I can remember was not from a teenager but from an adult friend: "What does the world need with another poem?"

Wow I have been doing some catching up on your silk worms - how fascinating! Wonderful stuff! I love the little videos you've made. They are so cute those little fellows - so industrious and calm.

Thanks Stu!

Yes, I was surprised by that, too - Barbara. I was expecting them to moult first, but they didn't.

That must be wonderful to see the baby fish...as long as the parents don't find them a tasty snack, perhaps?

Yes, Marly, I've heard something similar reported to me - a publisher reminding some famous author - that no one asked him to write his book! This is true, I guess, but sometimes you don't really need to hear it, do you?

Thanks Kay - yes, I am sadly obsessed, I fear. Ah well, I expect I'll soon get over it!
