Happy Birthday Book!
It now one year since A Place of Meadows and Tall Trees's publication.
Since then I've given 35 presentations of one sort or another. It's been a lot of work, and I've no idea how successful it's all been in terms of book sales, but I've enjoyed most of it, and it has been great to see parts of Wales I'd never seen before. I've also met some very interesting people - that's been the best bit.
There is a big interest in the Welsh in Patagonia in Wales, and I've been pleased with how well my publisher, Seren, has managed to get my book 'out there' (with all the other Seren books). It seems like everywhere I've gone in Wales - all the big local gift shops - I've found the Seren carousel lurking in the corner.

Wow, a year! It is a great time to take a step back and see all you've accomplished. And I know what hard work it's been. Congrats!
Thanks Sue! Much appreciated.
Well done, Clare. What a pity that the publisher doesn't keep you posted on sales after all the hard work you do to promote the book. I wonder if there will be an e-version at some point?
Thanks, Maxine! I am working on the sales figures business :-) And yes, I really should look into getting an ebook of it too, and keep up with the times.
Happy birthday, book! Isn't it amazing how quickly a year goes by? Seems like yesterday you were announcing its release.
Yes Mary, goes by quicker each year!
Remember they had one in the Welshpool station?
35 in a year is quite good. I mean, I can't see how you could do much more than that! Even if you don't have children at home any more... You'd just burn out or not ever manage to get any more books written. And it's time-consuming and expensive, too, of course. I think you deserve The Indefatigable Book-Flogger Award. In fact, I declare you the winner. I'll have to announce it on my blog. XD
Why, thank you Marly! I proudly accept. :-)
And yes, Welshpool station had a Seren carousel too. They do pop up in the most unexpected places.
All right, I'm announcing it tomorrow on my blog. Only I am giving it a fancier name in your honor.
And shall post some pictures of you (and me and the Bonta!) at Castell Powis! What a sunny day...
Of course this presupposes that my efforts did actually sell books, Marly (I think they did a bit, but not really sure!) I guess I am indefatigable to some extent, though. Or senseless.
