The Royal Wedding
How irritating it must be, to have no interest in the Royal Wedding (as I haven't),
and yet to find that the house in which you live is to be part of a street party
from 9am until midnight, or thereabouts...
How glad I am to find that on that day I shall be on a train heading north to people as uninterested in the artificial pomp as I am.
That is all I intend to say on the matter.

Sounds like a giant craft fair that overtakes our town every September. There are lots of locals who like to leave town that weekend, including me. I have to say, I'm not interested in the Royal Wedding, either, though it is getting plenty of media attention on this side of the pond.
Same here - no interest whatsoever in the event. We've had to put up with the build up all week in the media, so I have no intention of even watching the whole ridiculous spectacle on TV.
Let's form the Royal Wedding avoiders club...
Ha, thank you Mary, Anne and Brian - so good to find like-minded people on three continents.
Clare, thanks so much for lunch and the tea- dragon! So wonderful to meet... Send me your address again when you have a minute, and I will send you something fun when I get home...
Entirely my pleasure, Marly! It was great to meet you in the flesh at last - and I very much enjoyed meeting David too.
And it was the perfect day, wasn't it? This morning it is windy and pouring...
Yes! We were lucky!
