It is not very often that the Dee freezes
but this Christmas day the ducks and swans slithered on a new unwelcome thoroughfare.
People, dispelled from the streets as if by the cold,
took to the hills with sleds, outside the walls.
And we walked back, counting footsteps
to my favourite present.

I wish you and family a very Happy & Prosperous New Year.
Thanks you Gilles - the same to you!
it's sheep! and a tea cosie! that's so cool! I love chester :) my bf comes from ellesmere port, so I've visited both a couple of times. still haven't walked the chester walls though, which I hear is worth doing :) aw man I love your present :)
Wow, really? Ellesmere Port is so close! And yes, it's well worth walking the walls. I am keeping my sheep cozy for special tea occasions. I think it is important to eke out my pleasures :-)
What a cozy sheep! I believe you must have stolen it from Genius Gump.
Ha, yes Marly. Dr. Grump was in fact given tow so she gave one to me.
