How to phone the UK from China (dial *111*, the code, then ⌗)
I am writing this little post because when I tried to ring home I couldn't, and even when I looked on the internet couldn't find a solution. Like everything else in China there are different rules.
Normally, for a UK number I'd ring 0044 then the local number without the initial zero.
So say for a Chester number: 01244 123456 the code from anywhere else in the world would be 00441244 123456
However, in China it would be *111*00441244 123456⌗
The service then connects through an operator - most of the time.
I realise this post will be of very little help to someone in China because blogger is blocked over there, but maybe it can help someone about to go.
