Sunday Morning Reading

Ah, I am so glad I have my blogger friends. First Maxine wrote this wonderfully blazing post, then Crime Fic Reader added her astute comments, and now I've just read Gordon McCabe's fantastical answer. I am not exaggerating when I say that each lifted my soul in different ways. Thank you all three for your splendid writing. It gives me hope.

Astonishing reading, but very clear and articulate in their thinking, on all three counts. Thanks for the heads up, Clare.

We are watching our polls here, in Ireland, very closely to see how the governing parties are bearing up against the electoral backlash - it's not looking good for Fianna Fail or the Green Party, and they deserve the drubbing for the way they have dealt with the economic downturn and the backlash. I'm sure they've plenty of skellies in their cupboards, I should expect to hear them rattling soon.

Aha, very interesting, Barbara - sounds like there are similar things going on in both countries. We are in the middle of great change, I believe. I just hope things will improve as a result.

Thanks for the mention and the lovely comment. Not sure I was uplifting though; I just went on a rant. Today, I felt like a laugh so I have come up with Gordon's dream cabinet. I hope you find some light relief in it, Clare!

A friend from Canada rang earlier today and I read the list out to her over the phone. She was astounded, "You're cabinet is that big?" she asked. Yes, it is. I got the list from the Number10 site. That's another thing to thank Labour for, an ever increasing political economy!

I don't know about cabinets or much of anything else, CFR. I can't see anything to vote for any more. The world seems depressingly amoral and corrupt. There are no ideals or aspirations - everything is about money and I feel overwhelmed by it all.
