Hodmandod Senior was sent a safety report at work today which caused him some amusement.
Apparently one employee felt faint during a training session and was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure. There the 'injury' pregnancy was recorded (much to the employee's surprise) together with the name of the 'responsible manager' alongside.
In what capacity the manager was responsible is not revealed.

Clare, you are funny and wonderfully literate. I read as far as I could down your blog without feeling too guilty that I should be marking science books. You are able to comment beautifully on so many topics - living in your shell or not. Learn Dutch: it's not difficult. I advise learning via Pimsleur CDs. You very quickly become fluent, and then you can change your focus to reading/writing. For the reading part, I find that reading the same book in two languages at once helps... I can think of a title of one already that would be perfect for you! For every wonderful thing that you are I raise my glass to you. Much love.
Lovely to hear from you Anne and thank you for your comment. You're so kind! ...but you overestimate my language skills - which are non-existent. I'm really useless. Some people just haven't got an ear or memory for such things and I, I'm very sorry to say, are one of them.
