Jim Murdoch's post on Historical Imagination and Historical Consciousness

Today, Jim Murdoch has posted a fascinating study into history and historical fiction, with a few references to my work. He considers, summarises and generally has a lot of intelligent things to say about the sometimes fuzzy line where non-fiction writers make little excursions into fiction, and where fiction writers might depend too much on fact.

I've just read Jim's post Clare and followed it to you. Jim's blog is a treasure trove of information - reviews on books and explorations on the nature of writing across numerous genres. His is one of the most helpful blogs I've found in the blogosphere and he is so generous with his time and thoughts.

It's good to meet you here, Clare. I struggle with issues of history all the time, the facts and the fiction of creative writing generally, though I work through the autobiographical. I look forward to exploring your blog further. Thanks.

Good to meet you, too Elisabeth. Yes, Jim's blog is impressive. He clearly puts a lot of thought into his posts.

I've just been over to your blog too - equally impressive. You seem to have quite a supportive network of bloggers there, and like Jim a very interesting range of writerly discussions.
