PS I remember spending ages learning to raise one eyebrow as a child, after seeing my mother doing it. I always like doing it. I don't think either of my daughters has mastered (mistressed?) it yet, but will ask them for a demo when I next see them, and let you know....
Smoking through the ears, Jonathan? Quite a spectacular feat that one, and not one that I'd heard about before. I suppose that must mean we can smell through our ears too. Next time I see a rose I'll try that one out.
Why thank you Debi. My ears too are growing increasingly unreliable - which has good effects as well as bad, I find.
I had one poorly ear the other week...until then, I never realised just HOW awful it is not to be able to hear properly. I've always had great sympathy with blind folk, but never realised how horrid deafness can be. I was lucky , but some folk have to live with it permanently.. So cherish your ears, Clare, and btw, I like the earstuds!

Beautifully shell-like, Clare.
Thank you!

Thanks again for the ear!
My pleasure, or rather Hodmandod Senior's.
Now I didn't realise that you could learn to raise one eye-brow. I am going to start practising in the mirror at once.
What fun! My grandfather could puff smoke out of his ears.
Smoke-puffing ears? Wow!
Your ear is lovely, my dear. Mine look good but unfortunately don't work very well ... can't have everything I suppose ...
Hey, you're back! Thanks for lending us your ear.

Twitches: Heh. Very good.

I see your point. :) You have some talented people here and at home.
A most excellent ear.
Actually, now I think about it more, maybe he didn't blow the smoke out of his ears.
I think he used to stick the cigarette in his ear and then blow the smoke out of his mouth.
I hope it wasn't some sort of trick...
